Went to the Camp Santanoni Historic Area in the Adirondack Forest Preserve today. A great location for cross-country skiing and/or snowshoeing; visit http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/53095.html for more information on this area. This shot was taken at the stone dairy building at the Farm Complex.
The Prospect Park Boathouse is home to the first urban-area Audubon Center in the nation. The surface of the water is covered with duckweed and watermeal (sometimes mistaken for harmful algal blooms) which are free-floating aquatic plants commonly found in nutrient-rich ponds and lakes.
